History of Isiah Thomas

Isiah Thomas was a professional basketball player that played for the Detroit Pistons. He was a 12 time NBA All-Star and named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history. Also he was inducted into Naismith memorial basketball Hall of Fame. Thomas played in college for the Indiana Hoosiers. Then after his college years he played at Detroit as a point guard and won two championships with them. He went to high school at St. Joseph’s High School and he was the top prospect for college coaches.

Isiah Thomas was born on April 30, 1961. He was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters. He would wake up every morning at 5 am to practice the game of basketball. In his NBA career, his team went to the NBA championships about 8 times, but only won two them. They would play good the other years, but would make it to the NBA championships. April 1994, he decided to end his career due to achilles tendon tear. He ranks 5th in NBA history in assists (9,061, 9apg) and ranks 9th in steals (1,861). Thomas was known for attacking to the basket and his dribbling skills. His jeresey numer 11 was retired to the Detroit Pistons.

After his career he became a television commentator. Such as, Sports center and NBA Game Time.
